Well the kids are back in school, football is being played, and fall is in the air, so it must mean we are in the middle of HURRICANE SEASON. With one scare already in our Texas markets, I want to remind everyone that we are not going to allow any of our employees to be endangered by keeping our restaurants open. When a storm is going to head towards one of our restaurants, we are going to close the restaurant, and tell our employees to seek high ground and shelter. That said, we all need to realize that the national media wants to attract viewers, so they will make their stories as sensational as possible, to encourage folks to watch them. The best and safest thing to do is to watch your local news. They tend to be more sensitive to what the truth really is, and they will not try and panic their local viewers. The weather service is pretty good at predicting where a hurricane is going to go. The best thing to do is listen to the local news…don't listen to rumors from your friends…get the facts. Remember that rain bands can be over a hundred miles from where a hurricane is going to hit. So we are not going to close restaurants because it is raining. Watch and listen to your local tv or radio…that is the best way to stay informed. Often time schools will be closed, but this does not mean the hurricane is coming. It may just mean that the schools want to be prepared in case a storm turns. So we won't always close our restaurants because the schools might be closed.
AND REMEMBER, AS SOON AS THE DANGER PASSES WE WILL RE-OPEN OUR RESTAURANTS. SO PLEASE REPORT TO WORK AS SOON AS ANY DANGER IS PAST. Greg Hamer |

Summertime Heat Is it hot in your store ? To keep as cool as possible this summer, follow these guidelines: 1. Keep the drive thru window closed when not in use. 2. Never lower the air conditioner thermostat below 72 degrees. If you do, the unit will freeze up and there will be no cool air at all. 3. Keep the Gordita / Hot Stuft Burrito toaster lids closed. Did you know that unit heats to 500 degrees ? If you have two, that’s 1000 degrees. 4. Keep steam cabinet and heat cabinet doors closed. 5. Put lids / covers over any area of the steamwell that does not have a pan. 6. Make sure that the exhaust hood over the fryer is on and working properly
Remember, when you are hot in your store….check the above items and be cool………Tommy Gegenheimer
